DENIM, SHOES, AND TATTOO MOODS
Wednesday, March 25, 2009 17:39Have you heard of Ed Hardy? He is one of the most talented tattoo artists around, and he was awarded an Honorary Doctorate by the San Francisco Art Institute. Today, he doesn’t do actual tattooing anymore (he is retired), but oversees and mentors the artists at his San Francisco studio, Tattoo City. Since the 1980s, he has concentrated heavily on non-tattoo based art forms, especially printmaking, drawing, and painting.
If you’re in the mood for denim, head to a True Religion store. You could try out the Bootcut, Flares, Skinny, Straight Leg, or even Corduroy – it’s all there, and more! There are even shirts, Tshirts, tank tops, skirts and shorts. If you’re searching for handbags, you’re spoilt for choice with totes, shoulder bags, clutches, and other kinds of leather goods.
However, if it’s footwear you’re looking for, you need to try the Nike Dunks, which have a lower profile outer sole than its parent shoes. The result? The shoes are lighter in weight, and stay closer to the ground. The Dunk has an interesting history, and was used to spearhead what Nike called the “College Colours” programme. They signed some college basketball teams (and their coaches) to an exclusive Dunk sponsorship deal, in simple terms – it meant that each coloured pair of Dunks matched their uniforms.
